PREPARE
Once we have worked to prepare your garden plans and you are happy with them, it’s time to meet again and talk through the delivery options available to you. You may wish to work on just one key part of a garden at one time, or perhaps deliver it in layers - trees & hedges planted in the first winter, then walls built the next summer etc.
You might want to get stuck in yourself, or perhaps you prefer that a skilled landscape contractor is brought in with whom I can work to make sure the project design ideas are accurately delivered on site. In this way I can provide you with design input during the build to help deal with those niggly little problems that no one can foresee in advance.
On larger projects, going out to tender might be the best financial course of action. I can help arrange and run that process for you to select the right team to get the work done for your garden.
The point is that there are quite a few options here, and they are best talked through together to find a route to creating your garden that works for you.
I can help with:
Preparing high level garden budget figures
Compiling tender packages for the work, including specifications, schedules, detailed construction plans & details, and work programmes
Compiling tender lists and running the tender process to provide you with a tender selection report to base your appointment decisions on

PLANNING & PERMISSIONS
Some garden projects are located within protected landscapes or are themselves listed for historic reasons. On other projects the Local Planning Authority might want a sufficient level of design information about the proposed garden to see that it is a suitable setting for a listed property that is having work carried out.
In some cases, especially with new build properties, the conditions set may require a landscape scheme to be designed - in which case perhaps it might be best to get the garden designed fully at the same time so that the design works for you as well as discharging planning conditions?
I can help with:
Pre-planning application consultancy on landscape matters including early stage discussion with your planning officer.
Preparation of landscape information for a planning application at either outline or detailed stage.
Review of existing landscape conditions and the preparation of materials to answer queries and discharge the condition/s.
